An easy but delicious recipe, Balsamic Caramel Popcorn are encased in crisp caramel that’s enriched with De Nigris Gold Label Balsamic Vinegar. Perfect for a quick movienight or sport match snack!
Ingredients for 4 People
- 1 cup popcorn kernels
- 2/3 cup unsalted butter
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup honey
- ¼ cup De Nigris Gold Label Balsamic Vinegar
- 1 tsp salt
For the recipe
Preheat the oven to 300°F.
Pop the kernels according to the instructions on the packaging and set aside.
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the brown sugar, honey, balsamic vinegar and salt to the saucepan and stir until the mixture is smooth. Increase the heat to high and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Let the mixture boil for five minutes, or it thickens and turns a deep caramel color.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and pour the caramel over the popped popcorn. Stir the popcorn until it is evenly coated with caramel, then spread the popcorn out evenly on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
Bake the popcorn in the oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the caramel has hardened and the popcorn is crispy. Remove the popcorn from the oven and allow to cool completely before serving.
